On Thursday 12th February at 14:00 Chunglee Kim will be giving a talk entitled "Galactic Merger Rate of Double-Neutron-Star Systems" at the DARK Lounge.

Title: "Galactic Merger Rate of Double-Neutron-Star Systems"

Double-neutron-star (DNS) systems are prime targets for ground-based
gravitational-wave detectors such as GEO, VIRGO, and LIGO. I will
present up-to-date estimates for Galactic merger rate of DNS systems,
and discuss prospects for the detection of gravitational waves.
